Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply terminology theory when designing linguistic resources and working with technology
- Build corpora for specific purposes in an ethical way
- Conduct terminology extraction either manually or automatically on corpora and produce validated terminology lists
- Design glossaries according to the best practices outlined in ISO 30042 TermBase eXchange (TBX) that include fields that facilitate the application of termbases in content authoring, translation, and generative artificial intelligence
- Produce monolingual and multilingual glossaries for use in content authoring and translation
- Incorporate and use glossaries in computer-assisted translation applications and during content authoring and translation by either humans or machines
