This ahk file can be used in conjunction with the free software Autohotkey. The “script” automatically opens a new tab in your browser and performs a Google search for the text you have currently highlighted when you hit CTRL+SHIFT+c on your keyboard.
I use this script dozens of times every day to research terms I am reading or writing about. When I am reading a document in any program I can just use my mouse to highlight the word or phrase, then click control, shift, and the letter C and a new browser tab pops up with a Google search for that highlighted word or phrase.
